Stories that shape lives.

Original & adapted animation for film & television.

The stories we grow up with do more than entertain. They shape how we see the world, expand our imagination, and widen our sense of possibility. We develop animated stories for global audiences with that lasting impact in mind.

About us

Nicole and Erica over the years

Nicole P. Hearon

Nicole P. Hearon is a feature animation veteran who has spent years inside the studio system, building stories at scale and understanding what it takes to bring a film to life. Her credits include Frozen, Frozen II, Moana, Tangled, and most recently, That Christmas.

Erica Starks

Erica Starks is an entrepreneur who builds creative ventures with a long view, thinking from the outset about intellectual property, audience, and global expansion. Erica went from Broadway to Disney Feature Animation, and back to Broadway, this time internationally.

But our real connection was never resumes. It was taste.

We met the way a lot of good things start, working together in Los Angeles, over Friday afternoon teas, talking about movies. Not deals. Not strategy. Movies. And especially soundtracks.

We kept returning to the same idea: the films and television shows that stay with you do more than entertain. They shape your imagination, your sense of possibility, and sometimes even the trajectory of your life. That belief sits at the center of Pau Productions.

We are drawn to stories with big feeling, emotional truth, strong music, and imaginative world-building. We believe the strongest films and series treat audiences, especially children, with intelligence and respect.

As our lives moved across the Atlantic, from Los Angeles to Spain, the UK, and Andorra, the idea of building something together came into focus. What began as shared instinct became shared purpose. That purpose became Pau Productions.

Our mission

Do you remember walking into a theater as one person and leaving as another?

The best films and television series create a before and after in your life. They stay with you. They shape how you see the world, expand your imagination, and widen your sense of possibility.

At Pau Productions, we believe that kind of storytelling matters.

Because the stories children grow up with become part of the adults they become.

Today, that impact is global. Stories travel across borders, geographies, languages, and cultures. They connect people through feeling, memory, and imagination. At their best, they remind us of what we share.

Our mission is to develop and produce animated features and series with that kind of lasting emotional and cultural impact.

We are drawn to stories with big feeling, emotional truth, strong music, and imaginative world-building. We believe the strongest films and series treat audiences, especially children, with intelligence and respect.

Because animation is not just a genre. It is one of the most powerful narrative forms in culture.

And the stories that truly work do not fade. They become part of who you are.

Our slate

In addition to our original ideas, we seek out international IP with global potential before it reaches the radar of the major studios.

About Pau

Pau

2009-2025

Name

Pau was Erica's dog: an unforgettable one-eyed chihuahua from Valencia, and a constant through entire chapters of her life. Pau means peace in Catalan. It is also the Catalan form of Paul.

Myth

Pau, who died in Erica's lap while she and Nicole were building the company in 2025, was funny, quiet, and impossible to categorize. Children would stop in the street and ask, Is it a dog, a cat, a rabbit? He moved through the world in his own way, and somehow made other people see it differently too.

Meaning

Nicole suggested naming the company after him because he represented something essential: instinct, loyalty, presence, and love.

Legacy

While Pau Productions is built for global audiences and studio scale, the work still begins somewhere small and deeply felt, with instinct, with emotion, with companionship, and with the kind of presence that quietly changes the shape of a life.
